I have just been playing with zattoo. It provides live and legal TV direct to your PC. Channels include BBC News, BBC 1, 2, 3, 4 ,C4 and C5. The picture is quite small, but reasonably clear. Worth a look

Is your wife Danish ? If so maybe you can help with this...

I was at an Anglo-Danish wedding reception on Saturday. Something strange happened at 10 to midnight. A special tune was played (was it a Cinderella Waltz or something?) and the bride and groom had little dance. Then a load of burly foreign gentlemen, Vikings you might say, muscled in, picked up the bride-groom, bore him aloft and removed his shoes and socks.

What the heck was that about ?

That happened to me - although I was warned about it!

It is a very old Danish tradition. The idea is that the a sock is removed from the groom, the end of the sock is cut off and given to the bride. She is then meant to darn the sock back together for the approval of her mother-in-law.
